Shared note

IGI C033983 Dilhorne gave christening date of 16th April 1797, same day as his brother Thomas, leading me to believe they were twins especially as there were (subsequently) other twins in the family: Samuel and Lydia. It also suggested that the Jo seph christened in 1794 must have died in infancy. However, on examination of the parish record (image via Findmypast), only Thomas was christened on 16th April 1797, so the IGI record I saw must have been mistranscribed (it may now have been corr ected).

1841 census, Joseph Harvey, 40-44, ag lab, living in at Godley Brooke in the Dilhorne district of Cheadle, Staffordshire with (presumably) wife Hannah 35 with Esther 8, George 4, Luke 2 and Isaac 6 months.

In 1851 census there is a Joseph Harvey, Agricultural labourer, 56 , married to Hannah 45, both of Dilhorne, living at Godley Brook. With them are Luke 11, Isaac 10 and Hannah 4 all born in Dilhorne. Some of brother Samuel's children were born at Godley Brook. (HO107/2009/352 p9)

Joseph Harvey of Godley Brook died in April 1861 aged 66 and was burried in the churchyard at Dilhorne on 11th April.
