Sarah married just after the 1841 census and her marriage certificate identified her father as Joseph Chadwick, an engineer. At the time of the census she was living with her parents and siblings.

At the time of her marriage to Isaac Cooper, she was 21 and living at Talk o the Hill. Sarah made her mark in the register.
The witnesses were Hannah Alcock and Samuel Hilditch

From 1851-1881 she was living with husband Isaac Cooper and various of their children.

1891 Listed as aged 68 ‎(slightly young)‎ she is widowed and living with son Simeon, now aged 44 and a mining contractor - an employer - at 160 Victoria Road, Fenton. ‎(Is this where the mine owning story originates?)‎. Also living there are Simeon's wife Emily, 43 his sons Jess ‎(22 a coal miner)‎ and Fred ‎(9 a scholar)‎ and his daughter Sarah ,5, a scholar, and niece Jane Nixon 11 a scholar.

1901 Sarah is the head of household at 61 Victoria Street, Silverdale. Her son Daniel, 58, is living with her. He is listed as married but without a wife present. Sarah’s grandaughter Jane Nixon, now a 25 year old, single domestic worker is also living with her.
